Hippie Hounds is a health-focused dog salon created in 2016 by three professional, Seattle-based dog groomers. We are collectively motivated to provide dogs with better care than the standard accepted across many dog grooming salons in Washington.
We built Hippie Hounds to provide premium dog grooming services to clients in Lynnwood, Edmonds, Shoreline, Mukilteo, Everett, and their surrounding communities, because your dog’s health deserves it.

Our Story
Hippie Hounds came to be when long-term dog-groomers, Aaron, Amanda, and Anna (aka The A-Team), crossed paths and connected on their shared insights on the dog grooming industry standards in Washington. Equally passionate about dogs and giving the Seattle community access to higher-quality dog-grooming services, The A-Team pooled each of their life savings to start Hippie Hounds.
From each needing to work another job … to six years spent working six days a week … to starting our Lynnwood shop with one small suite … to opening a second location in Shoreline in 2018 … to expanding our Lynnwood shop to two suites … to having to close our Shoreline location due to COVID in 2021 … to expanding our Lynnwood shop once more to today’s 4,000 sq. ft space, Hippie Hounds has come a long way and has grown to include 20 employees!

I have taken my dog here twice with good results. They saw me waiting out in the car and brought the credit card machine out so they could do my checkout then brought my dog out to my car when he was done. They cut his length just as requested and he looks cool in his hippie bandana 😍

Wow. What a wonderful experience I had on yesterday. First time visiting and I was unsure of what to expect or how my dog would react . Well overall my dog was good (lots of barking because she was nervous about being around other dogs). The facility is very very clean. There is a area for towels, aprons, scented sprays after washing and treats if needs. The staff will make sure the stalk is sanitized prior and after using (awesome) you are allowed to take pictures or videos of your pup if you like. Staff helps you get started by securing your pup on the table and showing you how to add the soap, wash rinse etc . Thanks for your patience and understanding for our first visit. If you want they have full service choices as well. Let me say prices are extremely reasonable omg these are the best owners, staff and there is plenty of parking. It’s a walk in facility. I can’t say enough about the quality, value, compassion and professionalism this team of people have for the pups who enter in. I truly highly recommend this location for self service, full service grooming. Better than other locations in the area. They will not disappoint. Make sure to leave a tip of gratitude, drop off towels, treats from Mud Bay. Lastly, they provide shampoo and conditioner. If your pup has sensitive skin/coats let them know. Staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. My pup did well for her first nail trimming as well thanks again to Aaron and the rest of the staff I’ll definitely return in a monthly basis for nail trimming and as often as needed for bathing. They also have a punch card(make sure to get yours) ok that’s all I have for now . Thanks for a great first time experience.

2: Prices are very reasonable, especially as the nail trimming was done by employees taking their time to do a great job.
3: Parking was plentiful.
4: The place is obviously well used, but not tired or shabby & its all a good sign that plenty of people are coming here because they trust them.
5: Be ready for water & dog fur on the floor.....I wasn't! But the floor surface is about as slip resistant as could reasonably be expected.
6: Earplugs! We had wash bays either side of us with howling, screeching dogs. Not a fault of the business but my ears were ringing afterwards. If it bothers you then best be prepared.
We will be going again.

From Aaron, our co-owner and CFO: "On June 19, 1865, Union Soldiers finally made their way to Galveston, Texas, with orders declaring that the more than 250,000 prior enslaved people still there were free. It was more than two long years after the Emancipation Proclamation had been given, yet the South was resistant to accepting their defeat and refused to free the people.
"That day was only 160 years ago. Juneteenth is powerful to me because my family`s American roots began in Texas. My Great Grandpa was a proud Texan and a proud Black American. He taught me the value of hard work, dedication to my family, respect for all living things, and to live in gratitude. Generations before him were some of the very people involved in the original Juneteenth celebrations. And here I am today, generations after him, a proud Black business owner.
"I honor my family`s history and my ancestors, knowing that I would not be where I am today without them and the roads they traveled down. Juneteenth to me is now not only a federally recognized holiday, but also a personal celebration of my family`s Texas roots, remembering where we have come from, and feeling proud to be who I am today."

For Auggie the Doodle’s second puppy orientation visit, Anna trimmed up around his eyes, private areas, and down around his feet so he wouldn`t track in wet, muddy paws. 🐶🐾
During the groom, Anna removed the blade from her clipper machine and rubbed the tool all over his body. While it was on, she discovered that Auggie was a bit nervous with the clippers around his head. With a little more desensitization at home, Auggie will soon be ready to graduate to a full, big boy haircut.
We introduce puppies to grooming steps in small doses to help them become familiar and desensitized to the process. Tailoring our care to each dog, we move at their pace and adapt to their needs, ultimately helping them to develop a positive association with grooming.

It’s #InternationalCorgiDay and a perfect time to spotlight some of the beloved and goofy Corgis we’ve groomed at Hippie Hounds, featuring: Chloe, Penny, Zora, Lucy, and Napa. We love this silly, sharp-witted, and small-but-mighty breed (and their adorable little booties 🍑).
Did you know that Corgis…
🐾 Are low to the ground to avoid cattle kicking them? They would bite at the heels of the herds and then duck underneath the powerful cow`s hooves flying at them!
🐾 Thrive with lots of exercise and stimulation for their active minds; without it, their boredom can have destructive consequences.
🐾 Benefit from monthly baths with proper conditioning and re-moisturizing. A deshed bath and brush-out is perfect for keeping your corgi at optimal grooming health!
🐾 Last but not least, Corgis are notorious for having sensitive feet. Plus, their long bodies and short legs often cause joint discomfort, so it’s important to handle them very cautiously to keep them safe and comfortable!

Meet Patti the Cocker Spaniel, who came to us for a fresh cut and reset to help her adapt to a new lifestyle. ✂️
Patti always loved being outside alongside her companion, a Lab, who sadly passed away. In light of this loss, Patti’s family decided to train her to be an “inside” dog again, and this grooming transformation is exactly what she needed to help her settle in.
We needed to pre-shave Patti before the bathtub so the shampoos and conditioners could get straight onto her skin. She felt so happy to be cleaned up, and although she misses her friend terribly, she has happily adjusted to being inside with her family again.
