If it’s your first time at our (or any) self-serve dog wash, come say hi at our check-in counter. One of our friendly team members will show you the ropes and provide you with your dog’s preferred shampoos and conditioners. Once we’ve given you the rundown of our self-wash dog wash station, we’ll leave you to fly solo — but we’re always nearby if you ever need any help!

How It Works

Our convenient self-service dog wash is set up with everything you need to bathe your dog like a pro!

We do not require appointments for our self-wash dog wash and always welcome walk-ins.

Simply bring in your dog any time Tuesday to Saturday from 9 AM to 5:30 PM to use our self-wash dog wash!

Self-serve dog wash at Hippie Hounds is on a first-come, first-served basis.

The wait time varies depending on the time of day and day of the week.

The last self-serve dog bath must begin at least 30 minutes before our 6 PM closing time.

Self Dog Wash Bathing Tools

  • An easy-to-use, ultra-cleansing recirculating wash system designed to help shampoo penetrate even the thickest coat types
  • A velocity blow-dryer, with a High and Low setting
  • Microfiber washcloths for face washing
  • A rubber curry brush to use on both wet and dry coats
  • Cotton swabs, nitrile gloves, and hand sanitizer

Premium Products for Self Dog Wash

  • Gentle foaming facial wash made with a tearless/hypoallergenic shampoo
  • Coat conditioning spray that can be used in place of concentrate conditioner
  • Witch hazel-based ear cleaner
  • A variety of perfumes and colognes, nitrile gloves, and hand sanitizer
  • Treats for encouragement
  • Snazzy, fun aprons to protect your clothes

Self-Serve Dog Wash Pro Tip:

When shampooing your dog, the curry brush helps lather his coat and loosen built-up shedding, dead skin, or dander. After blow drying and your dog’s coat is dry, the curry brush does a great job of distributing natural oils evenly across the body for most dog breeds.

Self Dog Wash Add-Ons

External Anal Gland Expression: $10

Performed by one of our professional grooming staff.

 

Teeth Brushing: $10

Performed by one of our experienced dog groomers or bathers using enzymatic toothpaste for a gentle brush. (Note: This service should not be used as a replacement for veterinary dental visits or daily brushing care.)

 

Nail Clipping or Filing: $20

Performed by one of our expert staff with a Dremel tool. Although you are welcome to comfort your dog, you aren’t required to be present during this service.

We believe in all-inclusive services to support what’s best for your dog’s health. Thus, we do not charge extra for using our specialty products or upon-request assistance provided (like borrowing a calming “happy hoody” if your dog is afraid of the blow dryer or needs a higher-powered velocity blow dryer for her coat). Our products rotate based on the supply chain, so please call ahead if you’d like to know if we have a specific shampoo or conditioner in stock before you visit our Lynnwood self dog wash.

Watch how we work through every millimeter of a coat like Griffey’s here, using one of the most important techniques for thick, long-haired dogs: line brushing.

So what is it? Line brushing means working through the coat in small sections, one horizontal "line" at a time. We part the hair, brush from the skin outward, then move up bit by bit until the whole coat is done.

Why do we do it this way? Because matting starts close to the skin—right where a quick surface brush misses. Working section by section makes sure every layer gets attention, not just the top.

And why does it matter? For dogs like Griffey, tangles and mats aren`t just cosmetic. They pull at the skin, trap moisture, and can cause real discomfort. Line brushing keeps his coat healthy, comfortable, and looking his best.
