Hippie Hounds is a health-focused dog salon created in 2016 by two professional, Seattle-based dog groomers. We are collectively motivated to provide dogs with better care than the standard accepted across many dog grooming salons in Washington.
We built Hippie Hounds to provide premium dog grooming services to clients in Lynnwood, Edmonds, Shoreline, Mukilteo, Everett, and their surrounding communities, because your dog’s health deserves it.

Our Story
Hippie Hounds came to be when long-term dog-groomers, Amanda and Aaron (aka The A-Team), crossed paths and connected on their shared insights on the dog grooming industry standards in Washington. Equally passionate about dogs and giving the Seattle community access to higher-quality dog-grooming services, The A-Team pooled both of their life savings to start Hippie Hounds.
From each needing to work another job … to six years spent working six days a week … to starting our Lynnwood shop with one small suite … to opening a second location in Shoreline in 2018 … to expanding our Lynnwood shop to two suites … to having to close our Shoreline location due to COVID in 2021 … to expanding our Lynnwood shop once more to today’s 4,000 sq. ft space, Hippie Hounds has come a long way and has grown to include 20 employees!

I’ve been brining my GSD, Ruka, here for about a year now. They have always taken exceptional care of her, unfortunately as a puppy she was attacked by another dog and in return has developed reactivity. Hippie Hounds has NEVER let any concerns go unheard of. When my partner brought her in and Ruka had given her a hard time going into the groomers, their staff was calm, comforting and supportive. Every time she has come out beautiful and without the reactivity or worries she has presented at other locations before. Thank you Hippie Hounds 🙂
Holy heck this place was great! Staff was friendly and really helpful. They provide everything! Even shampoo (and conditioner) for sensitive skin!

I want to give a huge shout out to Hippie Hounds! I’ve been bringing my Goldendoodle (Martha) here for about 4 years now, and every time the service is exceptional and my pup comes home so happy! I love my scruffy and fluffy Doodle but when she’s cleaned up she looks even more amazing! Great staff and owners, and they treat every pup like they would their own. Best in town, by far!

Amazing staff and experience. I bring my dog to Hippie Hounds for grooming. This recent visit I wasn’t able to pick my dog up after his groom due to a dr appointment, and the staff were helpful to take him out for a quick pee break. When I went to pick him up, I noticed his face needed a quick trim due to its length and the staff was nice to help with that. Highly recommend.
Been coming here for 5 years and realized I hadn't left a FIVE star review yet. Aaron (spelling?) and his crew take care of our pups with so much care and love when they come in. So thankful for all the help over the years as my older dog won't let me cut his nails and they take extra precautions with my younger pup that has health issues.
This was our first time coming here and getting our dogs groomed since moving to WA. It was such a good experience and they turned out great! Everyone was very welcoming and it was clear our babies had been well taken care of!

Watch how we work through every millimeter of a coat like Griffey’s here, using one of the most important techniques for thick, long-haired dogs: line brushing.
So what is it? Line brushing means working through the coat in small sections, one horizontal "line" at a time. We part the hair, brush from the skin outward, then move up bit by bit until the whole coat is done.
Why do we do it this way? Because matting starts close to the skin—right where a quick surface brush misses. Working section by section makes sure every layer gets attention, not just the top.
And why does it matter? For dogs like Griffey, tangles and mats aren`t just cosmetic. They pull at the skin, trap moisture, and can cause real discomfort. Line brushing keeps his coat healthy, comfortable, and looking his best.
It takes a little extra time and a lot of patience—but Griffey and all of our long-haired four-legged friends are worth every second. 🩵
