Meet Amanda
CEO & Groomer
Amanda has been a professional dog groomer for 15 years, but her love for animals started long before that. She got her foot in the door in 2009 as a bather at PetSmart and quickly realized it was more than just a job; it was something she genuinely loved. After completing her professional dog grooming certification in 2010, Amanda took off running. In 2014, she left the corporate world to manage a shop on Alki Beach, where she was the only groomer on staff. That experience gave her the confidence to fully run a shop and showed her just how much she could handle.

Amanda has been a professional dog groomer for 15 years, but her love for animals started long before that. In 2015, the shop’s owner passed away unexpectedly and Amanda started a new chapter. Having known Aaron and Anna through years of dog grooming in Seattle, they began working together and realized their shared vision for building something better. By January 2016, they opened the doors to Hippie Hounds!

At Hippie Hounds, Amanda’s passion shows up in everything she does, from supporting the team and mentoring new groomers to building strong relationships with clients and their dogs. Although she’s experienced and comfortable with doing any haircut on dogs of all breeds, Amanda’s true grooming superpower is being able to stay calm, never feeding off of a dog’s anxiety. Having a deep understanding of dog behavior, thanks to her early experience in dog training, Amanda knows how to make a dog feel safe to trust her, which is what all dogs want! She loves creating a relaxed and fun environment where staff can learn and grow, and dogs feel loved.
She shares life with her pup, Pearl the Squirrel, a clever and beloved little dog who uses her front paws more like hands. Pearl comes to work with Amanda every day and even has her own private suite in the office. Aged 15 as of July 2025, sweet Pearl is truly part of the heart of Hippie Hounds.

Outside of work, Amanda stays busy with music, weightlifting, healthy living, reading, writing, learning languages, and all things Ireland.
