Meet Anna

COO & Groomer

Anna has been in the grooming world since 2007, when she started as a dog bather at PetSmart in Puyallup, WA. Upon turning 18, she enrolled in Grooming Academy and became a certified pet groomer that same year. Over time, Anna worked her way into leadership roles at a private salon, where she learned what it really takes to run a grooming business. In 2015, she stepped out on her own and launched Anna’s Pet Adventures, providing walks and overnight care for dogs, cats, rabbits, and even birds.

Anna’s early experiences shaped how she approached starting a grooming business. Although she had the chance to work with some truly talented groomers and kind shop owners, she also saw how many grooming spaces lacked structure, support, and compassion. Anna knew there was a better way to do things, and she was ready to help build it.

Anna's

Journey

Anna met Amanda in 2007 at PetSmart, where Amanda hadn’t yet started grooming but was working as a sales associate. A few years later, she met Aaron after transferring to the Federal Way PetSmart location. Their paths crossed again years later, and the three reconnected with a shared vision to create a grooming salon run by groomers, not business people who had never worked with dogs. Together, they combined their experience, values, and love for dogs and opened the doors to Hippie Hounds.

Anna has always believed in working with dogs, not against them. She is passionate about creating a safe, low-stress space where dogs are treated like individuals, and groomers work together as a team. Anna brings a calm presence, a strong intuition, and a deep understanding of animal behavior to her work. Alongside Aaron, she also helps care for dogs with more reactive or aggressive tendencies, always approaching them with patience and compassion.

Her favorite part of the job is spending her days with dogs and being surrounded by a team that genuinely enjoys each other’s company. The good energy in the shop makes a difference, and Anna knows the dogs feel it too. She also loves teaching others and continuing to learn herself, whether it’s a new grooming technique or a better way to support a nervous pup.

Outside of work, you’ll find Anna in the great outdoors. She loves hiking, biking, exploring with her family, and walking her dog, Pearl, who she rescued in 2011. Anna recently started training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and enjoys the challenge and physicality it brings. She also has a deep love for music, dancing, and art.

To Anna, Hippie Hounds is more than a grooming salon. It’s a dream come true, built by three groomers who care deeply about animals and the people who love them. She is proud of the work they’ve done together and excited to see what the future holds.
